The Carolina Piedmont Writers Guild, under a different name and as an affiliate of the Franklin County Arts Council (NC, USA), was formed in 2011 by author Donna Campbell Smith. In 2013, she and Jackie Dove-Miller published the very first County Lines: a Literary Journal. Today, the Carolina Piedmont Writers Guild Inc. stands on its own and is registered as a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization, sub-designated as a 509(a)(2) public charity, incorporated in the state of North Carolina.
